Family law: most searched, least well marketed

Family law generates an enormous amount of search in Ireland and almost no good content. The people searching are frightened, frequently searching privately, and looking for someone who will be straightforward with them. Most firms address them with a paragraph of generic reassurance and a phone number, which is why the field is as open as it is.

Discretion is a feature worth stating

People search this on a phone, often in a house where they would rather not be seen doing it, and they worry about who will know they made contact.

Saying explicitly that a first conversation is confidential and commits them to nothing removes a genuine barrier. It is a small line and it matters more than anything else on the page.

Answer the practical questions plainly

What the steps actually are, how long things take, what happens about the house, what the position is on children, whether mediation comes first.

People are not looking for legal analysis. They are trying to understand what is about to happen to their life, and a firm that explains it in order and in plain words is immediately the one they trust.

Never use the marketing register

No urgency, no 'fight for you', no aggressive imagery. It attracts the worst instructions and repels the ones you want.

Calm competence reads as strength here. The client is already in conflict; they are looking for someone steady, not someone angry on their behalf.

Be careful with testimonials and any identifying detail

This is an area where confidentiality is not a preference, and case examples can identify people far more easily than firms assume.

Speak in general terms about how matters are handled rather than about specific clients. It is the safer choice and it does not weaken the page.

Availability is disproportionately persuasive

These enquiries arrive in the evening and at weekends, because that is when the situation comes to a head.

A firm that says when it responds, and then does, converts far more of them than one that leaves people wondering until Tuesday.
